New PMP Exam -
Starting July 1st 2009.
Time is running short to certify for the PMP credential based on PMBOK ver3. PMBOK ver4 is now available and the certification test will transition to it starting in July. History tells us that PMI has used this transition period to adjust the difficulty of the exam. For those considering the PMP credential and currently qualified to take the exam
We recommend you schedule it BEFORE July. If you are not sure if you qualify but interested in doing so, please go to this link for
PMP Certification Handbook link.
Exam Passing Scores
The PMP Cert handbook gives great detail about exam scoring while not specifically mentioning what the passing score is. After you take the test you will know if you passed. When PMBOK rev3 was introduced the passing score was initially 71% and then, later, lowered to 61%.Rev4 passing score
is not published yet. It is possible this may be a moving target for the first groups of test takers.
